The North American Menopause Society (NAMS) is pleased to announce the recipients of the Society's 2009 awards that recognize outstanding contributions to the field of women's health and menopause. Recipients were acknowledged during the NAMS 20th Annual Meeting, in San Diego, CA on September 30-October 3, 2009. NAMS appreciates the generous financial support of industry which has made many of these awards possible.
Awards were presented to six individuals recognizing their clinical contributions or scientific investigation. Recognition was also given to an outstanding media professional, four new investigators for their abstract submissions to the Annual Meeting, and ten medical residents who have demonstrated excellence in their work in the field of menopause. In addition, one current Menopause Practitioner credentialed by the Society was recognized and one award was given to the best paper published in the Society's journal Menopause.
