Scientific Program
The 2024 Annual Meeting is a must-attend event for anyone involved with midlife women’s health issues. Two premeeting courses include the highly successful Menopause 101 course and the new Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy 101 course.
The Scientific Program Committee, chaired by Claudio N. Soares, MD, PhD, FRCPC, MBA, invites you to join them September 10-14, 2024, at the Hyatt Regency in Chicago, Illinois, for this year’s Annual Meeting. The scientific program, with the theme Humanizing Artificial Intelligence to Improve Midlife Women’s Health is a must-attend event for anyone involved with midlife women’s health issues. There will be two premeeting courses, including the highly successful Menopause 101 course and the new Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy 101 course. These will be offered concurrently on Tuesday, September 10. The Menopause 101 course will run from 1:00 PM to 5:15 PM, and the Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy 101 course will run from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
The main program will begin on Wednesday, September 11, at 8:00 AM with the Opening Symposium that will address Artificial Intelligence and Midlife Women’s Health: Are We There Yet? We again offer the popular Test Your Women’s Health Knowledge and Interactive Case Discussions on Wednesday afternoon and conclude the day with Dr. Lisa Larkin’s Presidential Symposium, followed by the President’s Cocktail Reception.
There will be dedicated time to visit the commercial exhibits and the opportunity to attend any of the Product Theaters scheduled throughout the meeting.
Those who register for the in-person Annual Meeting main program, which includes the Opening Symposium, will receive access to the virtual content of the presentations from the main program through OnDemand so that you can review all the valuable information when you return home. For those who are unable to join us in Chicago for the in-person meeting, you can register for the Annual Meeting main program and Opening Symposium, the Menopause 101 course, and the Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy 101 course virtually through OnDemand.
Menopause 101 Course
Tuesday, September 10—1:00 PM to 5:15 PM
This year’s Menopause 101 course will be led by Course Director Monica Christmas, MD, FACOG, MSCP, who will provide clinicians with a review of menopause basics and help to develop an evidence-based framework for managing menopause-related signs and symptoms. Topics will include hormone therapy, vasomotor symptoms, genitourinary syndrome of menopause, sexual function, mood, sleep, cognitive function, and prevention.
Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy 101 Course
Tuesday, September 10—1:00 PM to 5:00 PM
New for this year, the program will include a course addressing cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) for midlife women’s health, led by Course Directors Alison Shea, MD, PhD, FRCSC, MSCP, and Rebecca Thurston, PhD, FABMR, FAPS. The course will address topics including CBT for vasomotor symptoms, sleep issues, sexual function, and how to incorporate CBT into your practice, among others.
Annual Meeting Main Program
Opening Symposium—Artificial Intelligence and Midlife Women’s Health: Are We There Yet?—Wednesday, September 11—8:00 AM–12:00 Noon
This symposium will address topics including, among others, artificial intelligence (AI) in clinical practice, AI and coronary artery disease, and AI and ethics. The registration fee for the in-person Annual Meeting includes admittance to the Opening Symposium in addition to access to the content through OnDemand after the meeting.
Main Program—Humanizing Artificial Intelligence to Improve Midlife Women’s Health
This program will provide exciting updates on AI and the most relevant issues related to menopause and midlife women’s health, including breast cancer, perimenopause, brain health, hair, skin, bone health, healthy weight, menopause in the workplace, sexuality, substance abuse, sleep, and much more. There will also be sessions dedicated to the presentation of abstracts.
