How to Earn an MSCP Credential

Certification Examination
As the definitive resource for menopause and other midlife healthcare issues, The Menopause Society developed a competency examination in 2002 to set the standards for menopause practice and assist women in locating clinicians who could provide optimal menopause-related healthcare. Those who pass the examination earn the credential The Menopause Society Certified Practitioner (MSCP).

The benefits of earning the MSCP certification include

- Permission to use “MSCP” every time you feature your name and other certifications
Examination Dates and Fees
The examination is offered via Live Remote Proctored Test Administration. The examination is offered during 1-month testing windows in June and October. Applications are accepted year-round; however, they must be submitted with full payment at least 30 days before the desired testing window begins.
Applications and payments for the June 1-30, 2024, Testing Window, are due by May 1, 2024.
Applications and payments for the October 1-31, 2024, Testing Window, are due by August 31, 2024.
All examination fees are in US dollars. The fee for members of The Menopause Society is $375 and for nonmembers $675.
How to Earn the MSCP Credential
Details are found in the Candidate Handbook. It is important to thoroughly read the Candidate Handbook before applying to take the examination. Candidates must apply online to take the examination.
Eligibility
- All licensed healthcare professionals are eligible to take the examination.
- A copy of a current license must be submitted with the examination application and fee.
Study Materials
There is no study guide for the examination. However, The Society publishes many professional education resources that may be helpful in preparing for the examination, including Menopause Practice: A Clinician’s Guide. Candidates should seek additional information from other reputable sources as well.

In-Person Testing
